In this month’s blog, Team VetCor is kicking off a new Q&A interview series, “VetCor Visits”. In our first installment, VetCor’s Vice-President of Franchise Development, Mike Long, engages in a friendly chat with Patrick Salmon, owner of VetCor of Norcross (GA).
Salmon is a veteran of the U.S. Marines and became VetCor’s first teammate in the state of Georgia in Aug. 2020. He first learned about the VetCor business opportunity from his son and daughter, who had both worked with VetCor of Tampa. After careful consideration, Patrick decided to accept our veteran-owned business opportunity. Today, he operates the business alongside both of his children, who also work for VetCor of Norcross.
Here are some highlights from this edition of VetCor Visits:
What went into your decision-making process to make sure VetCor was a fit for you and your family?
“I wanted to build something for my kids in mind, that was a big part of it. But I also wanted to be part of something bigger than myself. I was familiar with franchising and put my previous experience on the line in the investigation of VetCor. It turned out to be a perfect fit.”
What piece of advice would you give a prospective VetCor franchise candidate?
“The biggest piece is to be patient with the process. This isn’t an overnight deal, and it’s also not a get rich quick scheme. I’d say that the resources are very much in place at VetCor, and I’ve always been able to pick up the phone and speak with a VetCor representative who’s willing to help out with any issue. As they say, you really are in business for yourself, but not by yourself. My advice? Just be patient and take advantage of the resources available to you. Then you can make an informed decision.”
